Foraging at The Foxhunter

Ever eaten nettles, or chickweed? Gain hands-on experience in identifying and using some of Britain's edible wild plants.

Learn to identify wild foods while enjoying a leisurely walk through some of the local woodland and hedgerows, then rest your weary legs while we serve up dishes containing your finds.

Each outing is individually tailored to what wild foods are available & in season and to the walking abilities of those attending.

You can choose whether to simply come and dine with us and partake of a set menu featuring wild foods - (from £30 per person) or, alternatively, forage for the foods yourself with a professional guide and then learn something about creating a menu using your finds (from £125 for the first couple / £35 for each additional person – includes set lunch).

However there is no set format, just let us know when you are thinking of coming to visit and we can put together some foraging options for you based on the length of stay and which wild foods are in season.

An overnight stay in Foxhunter Cottage is £145, which includes us stocking the fridge with breakfast items for you. There is a two-night minimum stay at weekends.

Here’s the small-print: Prices exclude drinks & service / Trips may involve using customers own transport or travelling with the guide / foraged finds will vary greatly depending on the season & the weather / Don't forget to let us know about any special dietary requirements.

Please note that The Foxhunter does not accept responsibility for guests' belongings (or the safety of guests themselves!) when on excursions with independent guides.
